The process of development planning and policy formulation at all tiers of public governance should principally be based on timely and research-based information regarding the underlying activities taking place in an economic territory. The more policy and planning decisions are knowledge based; the more chances would be for their success. It is with this motive that the Addis Ababa City Planning and Development Commission is established as a core institution to centrally govern and monitor the overall socio-economic development plans and performances of the City Administration.
